Super Mario Bros. 3 coming to Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console

Super Mario Bros. 3 is a classic — a star of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Most gamers consider it one of the best Marios around, if not the best.

And now even more people will have a chance to play it — some for the first time. Nintendo is bringing the platformer to Wii U and 3DS (that includes 2DS) via the Virtual Console.

Super Mario Bros. 3 debuted in North America in 1990, and it's one of the main reasons that I kept my dying NES. Nintendo rereleased it for Wii in 2007. Now it's coming to two new systems and will be available for offscreen play for the first time ever.

Excited yet?
