It seems like strange collaborations have been Nintendo's forte this generation. It started with putting a Benz in Mario Kart 8, then Zelda in a Musou game, Bowser in Bayonetta 2, and capped off with Cloud Strife in Smash 4. Super Mario Maker's costume reveals aren't quite on the level of new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U character announcements, but that doesn't mean they can't be surprising.
Enter Chitoge Kirisaki
Anime fans may recognize Chitoge as the main female protagonist in Nisekoi. She's the daughter of an infamous gangster, and is forced to pretend she's in a relationship with male protagonist Raku Ichijo, another mob child, in order to avoid all out gang warfare between their families. In true Japanese fashion, this scenario lends itself more to comedy than grim drama. Oh Japan, never change.
It seems Nintendo is using Super Mario Maker as a means to reach out to everyone. Who's next, Crash Bandicoot? Check out the trailer, and feel free to let us know who you'd like to see join the ever growing list of Super Mario Maker cameos in the comments section.
