Super Mario Run Adds Easy Mode, Golden Goomba Event

Super Mario Run has yet again gotten another update on iOS. This new update adds an Easy Mode and a Golden Goomba event.

Easy Mode allows for unlimited bubbles and it removes the game's time limit. This makes it easier for those who are new to the game, younger gamers, and those who just frankly aren't good at the game. While it's not much news to the hardcore platformer fan, it's a nice optional addition.

The Golden Goomba event is a new event that brings the golden Goombas to the Super Mario Run World Tour mode. They appear on the courses, more likely at the later stages, and defeating them will earn bonus coins: 30 per golden Goomba squashed.

There are also stamps equal to the number of Goombas defeated. Completing a stamp card will earn a special building for Kingdom Builder mode. These golden Goombas won't show up however until completing the Kingdom Builder tutorial, so make sure to complete it in order to participate.

The Golden Goomba event runs from February 1-20. Super Mario Run is definitely popular in the iOS market, hitting 78 million downloads, and is hopefully expected to grow even more once it hits Android's Play Store in March.

Patch Notes:

  • Compatibility with new events.
  • Compatibility with Korean.
  • You will lose fewer Toads when losing in Toad Rally, and it will be easier to gather Toads.
  • After receiving the My Nintendo reward Toad, he cannot be received again if save data is deleted. In order to resolve this issue, there is no longer a limit on the number of times Toad can be downloaded.
  • Fixed other issues.
