Super Mario is about to do something I never thought he'd ever do; star in a game on a non-Nintendo platform. But that's exactly what's about to happen with Super Mario Run which releases next week on December 15th. I admit I had my doubts about how well Nintendo's venture into the mobile gaming space would go, but early financial forecasts are nothing but positive according to Sensor Tower.
Super Mario Run is currently projected to gross $70 million within its first month of release, placing it just behind behemoth games like Pokemon GO and Clash Royale. This forecast was created from a variety of factors, including but not limited to the number of people who have registered to receive a push notification as soon as the game is live.
Super Mario Run is a bit expensive for a mobile game, coming in at $9.99, but players can sample each mode via a free limited trial. But if you want to play the full game, you'll have to pay up.
