One of the most-requested features by Switch owners is finally here. At last, Super Nintendo games are now available on Nintendo’s awesome new game system. The service is officially called Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, and is only available for users who are subscribed to Nintendo’s paid online service.
Nintendo Switch Online members can enjoy a curated library of more than 60 NES™ and Super NES™ classic games—including Super Mario Kart™, Super Metroid™, The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™, and more. Compete (or cooperate) online with friends, share your screen, or virtually pass the controller, depending on the game.
Starting today, 20 classic SNES titles are available. Here’s the full list of launch games:
A great feature is the ability to play these games online with or against your friends. That’s of course, if the game has a multiplayer mode. The rewind feature will come in pretty useful for some of these brutal retro classics. You can also play them locally with others by either using the JoyCons or the newly announced SNES Classic controller. The wireless controller is a faithful replication of the original SNES controller. Just like the SNES games, the controller will also be only available for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online is available as of today for users of Nintendo Switch Online.
