Fans eager to play the new Super Smash Bros. will be able to do so soon, if not already, as Nintendo announced today that a demo for the game will be made available on September 19 via the eShop. The demo will feature five playable characters — Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Megaman — on the Battlefield stage.
But while most will have to wait until next week to play the highly anticipated mascot brawler, select Club Nintendo Platinum members may already have access. Those who have moved to platinum status between July 2013 and June 2014, have registered their 3DS, and have opted in for emails will be eligible to receive the codes. Those invited will get four codes which Nintendo suggests you share with friends, so don't be greedy.
There is a catch with the demo, though. Although those invited today can play through local wireless an unlimited amount of time, the demo that will made available to everyone next week will only allow players to open the game a maximum of 30 times. Super Smash Bros. is set to release for 3DS on October 3, so plan accordingly.
