Super Smash Bros. 3DS demo now available to all

Starting today, anyone who owns a 3DS handheld can download the demo for the highly anticipated new Super Smash Bros.

The contents of the demo are actually the same as the one offered to select Club Nintendo Platinum members last week, which offers: five playable characters (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man), one stage (Battlefield), and the ability to compete in local multiplayer matches with other players who have downloaded the demo. The only difference is that those of you download the game today will only be able to open the game from the Nintendo 3DS Home Menu a maximum of 30 times.

For those who don’t own a 3DS, thinking of getting one specifically for Super Smash Bros., but want to test it first, can head to select retail locations (I’m assuming GameStop) and play the demo through the in-store kiosk.

The Super Smash Bros. 3DS demo can be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop. The full game is set to release on October 3.
