Trophies are returning to Nintendo's highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. However, in a post on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the trophies will differ for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS version.
"There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models," Masahiro said. "The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games."
Although both versions feature the same cast of playable characters, each version will have stages unique to games on that specific platform. On 3DS, there will be more stages based on handheld games, while themed stages from home console games will be found on Wii U. The different trophies further emphasize Nintendo's focus to draw inspiration from each specific platform's history.
