Super Smash Bros. will be running at a cool 60fps on 3DS and Wii U

Today's Nintendo Direct that was very much about Super Smash Bros. had some twists and turns, but one of the more impressive news coming from the show was the the game would run at a silky smooth 60 frames per second, on both the 3DS and the Wii U. This is even more impressive considering the only other game (if my memory serves me correctly) that ran smoothly when played in 3D was The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

On top of that Sakurai revealed that the assist trophies that will animate when activated will run in 30 frames per second, though the characters in battle will run at a constant 60fps. This is made to ensure there is no slowdown in battle, no matter what's happening in the background.
