Super Troopers 2 is a go as Broken Lizard hits funding goal

Over $2 million pledged in just one day

It's official. We're getting a Super Troopers 2

Just one day after launching a IndieGoGo campaign to help fund a sequel to 2001's Super Troopers, and to prove to 20th Century Fox that we actually want a sequel, comedy team Broken Lizard has managed to raise the required $2 million to begin production on the "basic version" of the film.

Of course, with 30 days still remaining, it looks like Super Troopers will raise way more than that which means we'll be getting a movie that Broken Lizard promsies "you'll love even more." While we don't have exact details for the script, Broken Lizard promises "More stunts, more famous actors who can actually act, more explosions and chase scenes, and more goddamn shenanigans that’ll make the movie great. For 92minutes!" It's unclear how much is needed to get Kate Upton or full-frontal Farva in the film, but I say that's our target goal meow.

Broken Lizard released an update 17 hours ago, but has yet to make an official statement since hitting the $2 million goal. I'm sure they will, though, and we'll update this once we hear from them. For those of you still interested in funding Super Troopers 2, there's lots of cool rewards and perks you can earn; head over to the film's IndieGoGo page to learn more.
