Super7, the creator of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon in the 1980's, has announced they will be unveiling the first new episode of the show in over 30 years. It will take place at SDCC on July 20th to a standing room only crowd outdoors.
A teaser trailer was released today, depicting Skeletor (real name Man-At-Arms) with what sounds like the original voice of Alan Oppenheimer. It's short, about a minute long and no appearance by Prince Adam is made unfortunately. Surely though, he'll be at the reveal on July 20th and hopefully we'll see if John Erwin, the original voice of He-Man, will be involved in the show as well.
The original series ran from 1983-1985 with 130 episodes, which was hugely successful for an 80's cartoon. A couple of movies were made on the series, including one with Dolph Lundgren as the iconic He-Man that didn't pan out too well. Another interesting note is that the sound directors for the series were none other than Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, the creators of Power Rangers. With that series getting a new upcoming film reboot this March 24th, hopefully they can squeeze out another one for He-Man.
