Are you excited to be one of the first to purchase a shiny new Wii U console and to bust out that copy of the new Super Smash Bros. game that was recently announced at this year's E3? Don't get too ahead of yourself–Smash Bros. developer Masahiro Sakurai recently announced that he has not even begun development on the game.
"We've got no plans whatsoever, we've got two new games out in the open when there's no extra time to work with them at all," Sakurai said. "It makes me cringe, and I'm not sure it's the smartest thing to make gamers wait for several years, but the early announcement was made chiefly in order to attract new team members." He also added that he won't have the time to correctly balance out each and every character himself and will need to have subsequent discussions with his development team.
This is quite disappointing, as that reveal was definitely one of my favorite highlights of the Nintendo E3 Press Conference, and undoubtedly one of every other Nintendo fan's, as well.
