Supergiant Games has announced the Steam release date for their acclaimed indie title Hades. The game has been one of many timed-exclusives which are only available on the Epic Games Store. Check out the Steam announcement trailer here!
Epic has been thoroughly making a name for itself after they launched their PC digital store front, the Epic Games Store, on December 6th, 2018. Coinciding the launch of the store, Epic showed the world their strategy to entice users migrating to the EGS. Exclusives. Namely, timed-exclusives which will be only available on PC through their store. The tactic to buy exclusivity like that is a well-known occurrence on consoles but for PC gamers it’s a new experience. Unsurprisingly, a vocal minority has been bashing Epic for their predatory tactics ever since.
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus as you battle out of hell, toward the surface, growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt. The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.
Nonetheless, with the launch of the EGS, one such highlight exclusive was Hades. A great action-RPG by the good folks over at Supergiant Games. The indie developer became a beacon of quality in the indie scene with titles like Bastion, Transistor and Pyre. The exclusive deal with Epic was only for a period of 12 months and as such, almost to the date one year later, Hades will be launching on Steam. Despite having been out for a year, the game will be releasing as an Early Access game. Supergiant hopes to fully launch their game sometime in the second half of 2020.
