Bossa Studios, the developers behind Surgeon Simulator and I am Bread, are working on a different kind of game that you're probably not used to seeing from them.
Their new game will call upon physics, a specific feature that made their previous games so charming and yet so difficult to play. Bossa is doing something with physics that up until now has been considered improbable — putting physics into an MMO. Bossa recruited the help of Improbable and together they have found a way to tackle this issue.
The result is Worlds Adrift, a game whose development is shaped by community feedback and is looking to take something new and go as far as possible with it. Worlds Adrift is a multiplayer PC game where players will be able to gather materials and craft a number of things — space ships, items, tools and more. The game will not feature a 'safety' zone when it comes to multiplayer PvP. Instead, the in-game community will see to creating their own zones based off of trust.
Where does physics come in? In the latest trailer they show off some cross-bow fighting between players. Every arrow that is shot is recognized by the games engine as real physics objects.
Check out the latest gameplay above, keep in mind that all of the in-game art you see is placeholder art.
