Survive the Alaskan wilderness in The Red Lantern later this month

Indie studio Timberline Studio has announced that The Red Lantern will launch on October 22nd. The survival-adventure game will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch. On the PC, The Red Lantern will be available exclusively via the Epic Games Store. Enjoy the new trailer here!

The untamed wild can be a gorgeous, however, it can also be brutally punishing. Now imagine being stranded all alone in the wilderness of Alaska with only your loyal band of sled dogs.

The Red Lantern puts the player exactly into that position. Then it asks you to survive the dangerous environment and navigate your way back to civilization. The setting is somewhat similar to the brilliant The Long Dark. Featuring a beautiful, almost painterly art style, you’re certain to encounter both danger and beauty on your journey.

With your trusty crew of dogs, navigate the ever-changing landscape and events in the Alaskan wilderness as you find your way home. Combining roguelike elements into this story-driven adventure game, where hundreds of different events can occur, you’ll have to fend off bears, resist frostbite, care for your dogs, and maybe receive a moose-licking.

Your biggest advantage is your sled and your five sled dogs. Above all, they allow for fast and safe travels. And you’ll need all the help you can get. Not only do you have to think about your way back but also about staying alive. In addition to the elements, wildlife poses a serious threat.

Chose your route, engage in hunts, and do everything to make it back safe and sound. Rouge-lite design mechanics make every trip unique. As such, you are forced to adapt to new circumstances. Just like actual survival.

With voice talent by Ashly Burch (Horizon Zero Dawn, Borderlands 2, Life is Strange), The Red Lantern even sports some serious star power. A very nice aspect that will surely help during lonesome times.
