It looks like Octopath Traveler is headed to the PC. The news broke out after a listing for a PC version of the Nintendo Switch JRPG appeared on the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. Leaks like this can always turn out be a mistake but more often than not, they are believable. Still, until publisher Square Enix confirms the PC port, we advise you to take this leak with a grain of salt.
Gematsu reported on the rating for Octopath Traveler where the page of Korean rating agency clearly states PC Octopath Traveler. The page has been taken down by now but thanks to quick online users we have a screenshot of the rating below.
Naturally, not much can be deducted from the rating, but we can see that Bandai Namco is supposed to take over the publishing for the PC port of Octopath Traveler. This matches with previous Square Enix titles which were published in Korea.
There are no details on when we can expect Octopath Traveler to come out on PC but if we had to guess, it won’t take too long. Further, the leaks is specifically about the Korean version but there’s little doubt that if the leak is correct, gamers worldwide will be able to play it on PC.
Octopath Traveler launched last summer exclusively on the Nintendo Switch and quickly became a must-have for fans of oldschool JRPGs. We enjoyed the game a lot despite some shortcomings in the story portion and pacing-issues with the unique game design of eight distinct characters and their tales. We weren’t the only ones who liked it and it shortly after launch the game went on to become a million seller. For such a unique and great game, it would only be good news if a larger audience can experience it.
