Another roguelike landed on Steam recently, and it looks like quite the pleasant (and unforgiving) challenge. Sword of the Stars: The Pit from developer Kerberos Productions features RPG gameplay, dungeon crawling elements, and a twist on the familiar and cruel roguelike formula.
Turn-based RPG mechanics help differentiate The Pit from other roguelikes. Everything flows on a turn-by-turn basis, allowing you to effectively plan strategies, dig into your inventory, and select the best items to come out victorious. That said, this is a roguelike, so defeating the opposition still won't be an easy feat.
If you're looking for a new dungeon crawler to play, you may want to give The Pit a look-see. The game is currently available on Steam for 10 percent off its regular $9.99 price tag.
