SyFy casts ‘Game of Thrones’ actor, Ian McElhinney, for Superman prequel, ‘Krypton’

The SyFy network has cast 'Game of Thrones' actor, Ian McElhinney, for the upcoming prequel series, 'Krypton'.

It was announced a few months back that the SyFy network would be moving forward with their concept for a series following the origins of Superman's home planet, Krypton. With the show being helmed by Warner Bros.' head writer for DC properties like The Dark Knight Trilogy and 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', David S. Goyer, the series has started searching for worthy actors to round out the cast.

Among the six actors just cast is 'Game of Thrones' alumni, Ian McElhinney, who will be playing Val-El, great great grandfather of Superman. McElhinney is joined by Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, and Aaron Pierre, all portraying Kryptonians with key roles to play in the continuing struggles of the House of El.

No word yet on when 'Krypton' will begin filming or who will make up the rest of the cast, but check back with us for more updates.
