Tactical-Horror RPG Othercide launches July 28 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for their upcoming turn-based action-RPG Othercide. Together with new game footage, we also learn about its release date. Come July 28, owners of a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will be able to experience the stylish horror game. Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait a while longer until they get the game sometime this summer. Check out the trailer!

Earlier this year we already learned that Lightbulb Crew’s very unique take on the turn-based RPG genre was aiming for a launch this summer. The game immediately grabbed the attention of gamers with its striking art style that goes for a very distinct muted color palette. Instead of blasting the player with all kinds of colorful effects at once, Othercide uses color very nuanced emphasizing actions to a larger degree.

Descend into Humanity’s last hope. The Daughters, echoes of the greatest warrior to ever live, are all who stand before Suffering and death. Lead your army to battle with all the skill you can muster. Your prowess in combat will decide their fate, shape their abilities and personality. Make the toughest decision and sacrifice one to heal another – survivors will get stronger, ready to fight the next battle.

Combat is an intricate dance of spectacular actions and counters: plan ahead of time and set up impressive chains of abilities to outsmart the enemy using the Dynamic Timeline System. Fight in epic boss battles against the sources of Suffering – dread creatures pulled from the worst of Humanity’s crimes against itself.

You will fight. You will fail. You will rise again.

It also helped boost interest that Othercide reminded gamers of Dark Souls, with its oppressive post-apocalyptic setting filled with nightmarish monsters. The addition that the player will control an army of stylish “daughters” into battle also doesn’t hurt.
