10 Chambers Collective has released a new gameplay overview trailer for its four-player co-op FPS GTFO. The video goes into detail about the setting of the horror shooter and shows plenty of tense gameplay footage. The developer also unveiled that the game will soon be available as an Early Access title on Steam. Watch the trailer below!
The most prominent feature of GTFO is no doubt its name. The commonly-used abbreviation of a speedy exit is more than just an eye catcher – what is does really well – but it also fits the game’s narrative perfectly. Players are cast into a horrific underground prison which is run by an elusive persona called The Warden. Instead of just letting you rot in a cell, he sends you and three of your friends into an ever-changing, dynamic underground complex that is overrun by all kinds of monsters. Here, you and your team will have to use tactics, teamplay and communication to avert your all untimely deaths while scrounging for ammunition and resources.
A particularly fascinating aspect of GTFO’s design is the Rundown which today’s trailer focuses on. It’s a dynamically created order of unique areas that the prisoners will have to conquer. It needs to be noted that not only the order but also the length can vary. One Rundown can consist of only three areas while others have more than five. Complicating matters and pushing players further is a countdown timer. Once it runs out, the Rundown gets deleted and replaced with a new one. So, not only will players have to fight for survival, but they can’t afford to be too careful on their expedition.
The developer is also promising to add new levels into the mix throughout the development at no extra cost. Furthermore, GTFO won’t feature any loot boxes, pay-to-win mechanics or subscription fees. Only cosmetic in-game purchases that won’t alter the game balance. Since 10 Chambers Collective consists of veteran game developers who worked on the great Payday games, there’s enough reason to believe that GTFO will also become a great co-op shooter.
