2013 promises plenty of exciting expansions for The Sims 3. The first, University Life, has already been talked about plenty. Due out on March 5th, we've seen screenshots and, most recently, a developer walkthrough video highlighting many of the add-on's features.
But looking ahead, we still have The Sims 3 Island Paradise, an oceanic-themed expansion that will release in June. This expansion will allow you to take your Sim to the high seas — a firstfor The Sims franchise. You'll be able to customize your very own houseboat and set sail in search of uncharted islands where you can create and manage your own resorts. Sound pretty cool? Well, this week we got our first look at what to expect in the form of two screenshots. It's not much, but it gives us something to look forward too!
Build, own and manage resorts – Create a family-friendly resort of waterslides and buffet tables, a romantic retreat dotted with minimalist cottages, or a singles resort featuring multiple pool bars where Sims can mingle and flirt. Choose and fine-tune amenities, set prices, and wait for the reviews—and simoleons—to pour in. The higher the resort star rating, the more popular your Sims’ resort will be!
Travel and live on house boats – Whether Sims love the water or are just prone to wanderlust, a houseboat may be the perfect abode. Houseboats are fully customizable and can be moored at any open port, so if your Sims is looking for a change of scenery, relocate to a new locale.
Explore underwater – See what surprises await under the sea as Sims build their skills in snorkeling and scuba diving. Sims may find themselves on the shore of a new island or discover sunken or buried treasure.
