Take to the skies in Gryphon Knight Epic August 20

Brazil-based indie developer Cyber Rhino Studios is reliving the days of 2D shmups with Gryphon Knight Epic, an adventure starring brave Sir Oliver and his gryphon Aquila. For those not up on their fantasy creatures, a gryphon is an animal that is half eagle, half lion and all awesome. This particular gryphon also boasts magical powers.

A malevolent force is causing all sorts of chaos in the kingdom, and has turned Oliver's allies against him. Players will battle giant bosses and in the tradition of 2D classics such as Mega Man, take their powers after the victory.

This one is coming to Steam August 20. It looks like an old-school blast featuring hand-crafted levels with hordes of enemies charging at you. Don't worry, Oliver will have a versatile arsenal of weapons, magical items and squires ready to lend a hand.

Get those itchy trigger fingers ready, and check out the latest trailer while you get prepared.
