Take to the sky with Marvel’s Iron Man VR Launch Trailer

Sony has published the launch trailer for its ambitious VR-only superhero title Marvel’s Iron Man VR. Not only does this new video show off actual gameplay but it also gives a glimpse at the big bad villain. Or rather villains. Check it out below!

Virtual reality is here to stay. Even if the upfront investment might deter money-conscious gamers, more and more high profile VR titles are being created all the time. That’s not the least thanks to major player in the gaming industry Sony who has a keen interest in VR making it big.

Their proprietary PSVR kit which for the first time ever enables console gamers to experience virtual reality without the need for costly PC hardware has probably done major work in bringing the futuristic way of playing games to the masses. To further bolster this, Sony has been steadily creating awesome VR games that can only be played on their platform. Marvel’s Iron Man VR is the next big VR title in that line and turns competing VR owners green of jealousy.

Tony Stark has retired from making weapons and instead creates technology used to battle evil as Iron Man. After several years as a world-famous Super Hero, Tony is attacked by the mysterious Ghost, a hacker and anti-corporate activist who repurposes old Stark Industries weapons. In her efforts to topple his empire, Ghost attacks Stark’s corporate locations around the world, leading to ever-escalating stakes and a final showdown.

Only PSVR owners will be able to experience the thrill of becoming Tony Stark himself and save the world in his ludicrously awesome exo-suit. Today’s launch trailer is full of bombastic action and even a look at Ghost and Ultron. The later doesn’t need any introduction for Marvel aficionados who will immediately recognize him as the maniac villain of the second Avengers movie. Ghost, on the other hand, was the key antagonist in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR is set to come this Friday, out July 3rd, exclusively for PlayStation VR on the PS4.
