Taken 2 trailer debuts and looks intense, but do we really need a sequel?

The new trailer for Taken 2 has been released and, well, some things are better off left alone. It's not that I don't enjoy Liam Neeson throat chopping enemies, but honestly do we really need a sequel to the amazing thriller film released back in 2008?

Taken was great because of the way events unfolded. We didn't know what was going to happen, we didn't know how his daughter would be kidnapped, we didn't know to what lengths Neeson would go to get her back.

Let's see what Taken 2 is about. While on vacation in Istanbul with his family, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter in the first film. Sounds familiar? It should, because it's precisely the same thing that happened in the first film. Mills' daughter was on vacation in Europe, got kidnapped, and was rescued thanks to some savvy detective work and a nice throat chop.

I've seen everything that happened in this trailer already in the first movie. I've seen that phone call where Neeson talks to his daughter and tells her what is going to happen. I've seen him tough talk and threaten the villain. I've seen him take out hordes of enemies with just a handgun and his fists.

I saw this trailer and already know what's going to happen. Do you really think any of his family will die? I'm not saying it won't be entertaining, but sometimes one film is enough. Of course, in Hollywood nothing is enough and they'll probably turn this thing into a trilogy because if that family hasn't learned not to travel out of country by now, I don't see them ever learning.
