Tales from the Borderlands gets first trailer, pricing details

Tales from the Borderlands has been on our radar for quite some time now. Since its announcement earlier this year, we've seen screenshots, watched panels, and been introduced to new characters, But we've never actually seen a gameplay trailer — until today.

Telltale Games released today the premiere trailer for their newest episodic adventure. While the trailer reintroduces us to the characters and plot, Telltale also revealed the game's cast, platforms, and pricing.

Troy Baker (BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us) takes on the role of Rhys, a Hyperion man with a robotic arm and skillful hacker, while Laura Bailey (Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, inFamous: Second Son) has been cast as Fiona, a swindling con-artist born and raised on Pandora. Other cast members include Chris  Hardwick (The Talking Dead) as Vaughn, Erin Yvette (The Walking Dead) as Sasha, Patrick Warburton (Family Guy) as Vasquez, and Dameon Clarke (Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel) as Handsome Jack.

As for the game itself, Tales of the Borderlands Season One will be spread across five episodes, each full of Borderlands' trademark humor. It follows Rhys and Fiona, as the two unwilling partners adventure together on Pandora to recover cash they both think is theirs. Along the way they'll encounter gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters.

Episode 1: Zero Sum doesn't yet have a release date, but is said to be available "soon" for digital download worldwide. Each episode will be available via PlayStation Network for PS4 and PS3 for $4.99, or you can get all five episodes of the first season as they release for $19.99. The season will also be available on Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360 for $4.99 per episode; a Season Pass upgrade for $14.99 grants episodes 2-5 as they release. PC players will have to buy the full season outright via the Telltale Online Store, Steam, or other digital distribution outlets for $24.99. Mobile gamers will have to wait for its release on iOS or Android, which will be sometime before the end of 2014.
