Today publisher Namco Bandai announced a new entry in the Tales role-playing game series.
Tales of Zestiria marks the 20th anniversary for the series in Japan, where the titles are developed. It's coming for the PlayStation 3, but Namco Bandai did not confirm a release window.
All four series designers — Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto — will collaborate on character designs, and Japanese animation studio Ufotable Inc. is creating the animated cutscenes and opening movie.
“In recent years, we have received anticipation for the series not only from Japan but from overseas fans as well," said Makoto Yoshizumi, chief producer on the series at Namco Bandai Games. "Because of this, I feel that the Tales of series has more potential than ever before. For this reason, we are taking this opportunity to announce Tales of Zestiria as a worldwide title."
Two other localized titles, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Tales of Xillia 2 (pictured), are due next year for PS3.
