Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been in theaters for over 2 months now and fans have been getting a little antsy waiting for the Blu-ray and DVD release, but it seems like they won't need to wait much longer.
Retailer Target has recently updated their listing for the highly anticpated movie; the date suggest the already rumored April 5th will indeed be the date the movie releases. In addition to the confirmed date, Target also has a special "Only at Target: Collectible packaging, plus 20 minutes of exclusive bonus content, including a never-before-seen interview with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, and a deeper look at the movie’s weaponry", take a look at it below:
Director J.J. Abrams already stated that there will be no extended cut of the film, but rather just deleted scenes. Abrams did reveal a bit of what we could expect in the deleted scenes, though, for example,
“There’s a shot where Kylo Ren turns on his lightsaber, which was not in the movie,” said Abrams. “There were a bunch of things we ended up not using. There will be deleted scenes, but not an extended version,” Abrams said to Entertainment Weekly (via GamesRadar). “With credits, the first cut was close to two hours and 50 minutes.”
If this wasn't a mistake on Target's behalf, then Star Wars fans can expect to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit store shelves on April 5th.
