Team-based hero-shooter Rogue Company out now for free

After several months in closed beta, Hi-Rez Studios’ has now launched its online shooter Rogue Company for everyone to enjoy. Out now in Open Beta, this team-oriented shooter can now be played across every major gaming platform for free. Enjoy the launch trailer here!

Free-to-Play shooters aren’t exactly a rarity but if it’s done by a developer with one of the better track records in the field, everyone should take note. Hi-Rez Studios is the team behind popular F2P titles like Paladins and Smite. It’s exactly this that gives Rogue Company enough trust.

Build as a team-based competitive hero-shooter, Hi-Rez has decided to go for a third-person view. Something that’s rather unusual in the genre. It works surprisingly well though since it not only allows each hero to build more character but gives players a larger view of combat as a whole.

Rogue Company is a top-secret syndicate of elite Rogues around the globe. To most of the world, the elusive Rogues are a rumor at best. However, to those in the know, Rogue Company operatives are indispensable to solving the world’s deadliest and most challenging missions. As a Rogue, players will grab their weapon of choice and dive into iconic locations to compete online in various PVP game modes.

A sizable selection of heroes a.k.a. Rogues incentivizes players to experiment and get to know each one’s strengths and weaknesses across four game modes. Thankfully, the developer already promised that all in-game purchases will be purely cosmetic, guaranteeing that no advantages can be purchased.

With full cross-play support across all platforms, Rogue Company is doing its utmost to guarantee an active and large player base. Traditionally one of the banes of F2P titles.

You can download the game right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. PC players can play Rogue Company via the Epic Games Store where it is exclusively available on the platform.
