Techland ‘amazed’ by this fan-made Dying Light mod

We're still a few weeks away from the release of Dying Light: The Following, but there's plenty in the base game to keep you busy until the expansion arrives in early February. Like, for instance, this fan-made mod that Techland highlighted today.

Created by "Cabozzl" using the Dying Light Dev Tools, Harran: The Ride is a unique custom map that sees you enter a zombie-filled amusement thrill ride in search of a small group of trapped survivors. "Take your seat in an interactive Zombie Ride which guides you through various stages of zombinsanity. And when you think the ride is over… the madness has just been started!" Cabozzl's description reads.

‘We were really amazed by the production value and overall level of skill!" said producer Tymon Smektała of the mod. "This thing has cut-scenes, custom weapons, voice-overs, collectibles and everything else you could expect from a proper DLC. It even comes with its own trailer. We couldn’t believe it was all made by just one person and simply had to share it with you."

You can download and play Harran: The Ride for Dying Light for free here.

As for Techland's official expansion, Dying Light: The Following is set to release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 9th, 2016. It will be available for $19.99 or for free as part of the Season Pass (now $29.99 after a price increase). It's also included in the recently announced Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition.
