With Dying Light recently touted as the most popular title in Techland's history — most recent sales reportedly around 4.5 million copies — there's one question on everyone's mind: when can we expect a sequel?
"Definitely not at this time," Dying Light producer Tymon Smektala told GameZone when we asked.
"While Dying Light 2 seems like a no brainer, there’s a lot work done on the subject. I don’t want to jump the gun, so there’s nothing to announce at this time though."
It should come as no surprise that Techland is open to a sequel, but for now it seems the developer is focused on supporting the current game. Techland just wrapped up Dying Light's Season Pass with the release of its third and final DLC, The Bozak Horde, but the developer apparently has plans to release a mix of free and paid content.
"We plan to support Dying Light for a quite bit, and there will be a variety of drops – free patches/updates with new content as well as bigger, paid things," Smektala said. "I hope we’ll reveal what’s coming quite soon."
Techland wasn't at E3 this year, but Smektala confirmed they will be at Gamescom in August "with something cool to show."
