Techland formally announces #DrinkForDLC campaign for free Dying Light DLC

What started off as a joke mocking Destiny: The Taken King's Red Bull-exclusive quest has turned into an entire campaign of free downloadable content for Dying Light.

Formally announced today, the #DrinkForDLC campaign — which began yesterday by encouraging Dying Light players to drink water in exchange for a free docket code redeemable for a high-tier weapon in-game — promises the community lots more free DLC.

"Techland have decided to design, create, and release a number of all new free DLC packs for Dying Light throughout the second half of the year," the studio announced today. The campaign will be driven by fans reaching successive stretch goals by continuing to post pictures of themselves drinking water and tagging them with #DrinkForDLC on Twitter — a clear mockery of the Activision/Bungie promotion with Red Bull.

It looks like a total of four free DLC packs are planned. As the tweet count nears 5,000, Techland has decided to reward all players with a 50% XP boost to player agility. The perk will be active for 24 hours, starting this Sunday, June 28th.

Techland also revealed the docket code which can be redeemed for the high-tier weapon in Dying Light. It is: "TH1RST-1S-R34L". The remaining four DLC packs have not been announced yet, but keep drinking!
