Not too long ago, I played and also reviewed Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains, a game that I seemed to enjoy more than a lot of other outlets. However, I recognized that it was a pretty repetitive experience, not to mention it was a game whose scale certainly wasn't a good fit on the Nintendo 3DS. Looks like Tecmo Koei is rectifying that.
Known for their Warriors (Musou) games, Attack on Titan is actually unlike those games, as in you won't be taking on thousands of enemy Titans with a lone soldier. Judging from the gameplay that the developer published to their YouTube, it will actually more resemble the anime, with intense human on Titan combat.
The actual gameplay starts from around the 1 minute mark, and features only quick glimpses, but from what I can gather, players will once again utilize the 3D manuever gear to Spider-man around the stage while targetting weak spots on enemy Titans, which fans will know are the in the back of the neck. However, we do see a few short glimpses at some dismemberment as well.
While there was no mention of a Western release, given the wild success of the anime here, it seems almost certain that we'll be getting the game sooner, rather than later. So far the game is scheduled to release this Winter in Japan.
