Tecmo Koei Delays DOA, Troy Musou in Japan

MotorStorm: Apocalypse and Ryu ga Gotoku of the End aren’t the only titles being delayed in Japan as a result of the recent tsunami and earthquake. Tecmo Koei has just announced that two of its upcoming titles will be pushed back indefinitely. The Nintendo 3DS fighter Dead or Alive: Dimensions is officially delayed, as is the historic hack-and-slash title Warriors: Legends of Troy (titled Troy Musou in Japan) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Tecmo Koei was hit hard by the catastrophic events in Japan. The company saw a major dip in the stock market recently, with shares dropping 10.7 percent to 626 yen ($7.65). That’s a big loss, and it’s possible that the recent delays will only hinder Tecmo Koei even more.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions was originally scheduled to land on Japanaese 3DS systems on March 24. Troy Musou was set to see an end-of-month launch on March 31. Tecmo Koei has stated that “various circumstances” were the cause for the delays, but specific details were not given.

Warriors: Legends of Troy launched yesterday in North America, receiving mostly negative review scores. Tecmo Koei hasn’t made any announcements regarding the North American release of Dead or Alive: Dimensions, but it’s safe to assume that the game will arrive as planned. An official release date has yet to be announced, though the game is listed within the official launch window of the 3DS.
