Tekken 7 is going for a renewed focus on storytelling, much like its competitors Mortal Kombat X, Street Fighter V, and Injustice: Gods Among Us have and with favorable results. While we know that Tekken 7's story will look to its past at a child Kazuya and a younger Heihachi, Bandai Namco revealed a trailer today showcasing that the game has not forgotten about its less serious side.
Enter Kuma & Panda, who have returned to make their Tekken 7 debut in all their bear glory.
Both characters have a little affinity for sports in their move set, as Panda sets his opponents to itself (much like a volleyball player) before it smacks them with Ace-like precision. Kuma can also use a large trout like a baseball bat to send its opponents flying, so it's safe to say these bears aren't messing around.
Bandai Namco also announced that the game would be getting an Online Tournament mode where eight players fight it out until one stands above the rest. The mode will also let you chat and spectate the matches. Tekken 7: Fated Retribution launches on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam sometime next year.
