Tekken 7’s 2nd Season brings Anna Williams, Lei Wulong and.. Negan from The Walking Dead

Tekken 7, the newest entry into the long-standing fighting franchise, is starting its Second Season with a slew of new characters. Game Director Katsuhiro Harada took to the stage at this year’s EVO Fighting Tournament to present the announcement himself. Series mainstays Anna Williams and Lei Wulong are making their comeback into Tekken 7 in Season 2. But the real surprise is a crossover event between The Walking Dead and Tekken 7, with Negan unveiled as a new playable character. Check out the trailer!

Game developers this EVO are not holding back with announcement after announcement of content updates and teases for upcoming game releases. We are barely reeling in from the recent surprise unveiling that a female gender-bent Terry Bogard is going to enter the cast of SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy and were sure nothing was going to top it.

But now, we learn that an even stranger character crossover is happening. Terry Bogard was known from a fighting game at least. Negan on the other hand is not even from the same medium! We’re talking about AMC’s hit zombie-apocalypse TV series The Walking Dead. The enigmatic villain of the TV show is going to enter the fighting ring in the second season of Tekken 7. Sadly, besides the tease in the announcement trailer, we didn’t get to see Negan in action in-game.

It’s tough to follow this act of course but besides Negan, two classic Tekken fighters were also revealed at EVO. Anna Williams, the younger sister of other Tekken 7 character Nina Williams is set to make her appearance. We see her deal out a hefty dose of “sisterly love” at her sister, even finishing her with a bazooka! Where’d she possibly hide that?

The other classic Tekken character to enter the fray is Lei Wulong. A charismatic and a bit goofy martial arts fighter, with a light attitude.

Season 2 for Tekken 7 is “coming soon” for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
