It's been rumored for a while now that Telltale's Back to the Future would be coming to Xbox One and PS4, but today, Telltale Games made it official.
Just in time for the 30th anniversary of the movie trilogy, Telltale will release Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition on Tuesday, October 13th in North America (Friday, Oct. 16 in Europe). It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
Back to the Future: The Game first released on PC back in 2010, and then came to PlayStation 3 as a collection of all the episodes. The 30th Anniversary Edition will feature textures "that take full advantage of current-generation console capabilities, and updated voice work from Biff Tannen's original movie actor, Tom Wilson." This edition will also include in-game access to new, exclusive content, including a behind the scenes video featuring interviews with movie trilogy co-writer and producer Bob Gale, original movie cast member Tom Wilson, members of the development team, and AJ LoCascio – the voice of young Marty McFly.
As for the actual story of the game, it takes place six months after the events of Back to the Future Part III. When the DeLorean Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley, driverless, Marty must go back to 1931 to recruit the help of a reluctant teenage Emmett Brown in order to save 1985's Doc from certain death. As Telltale states in the video above, there's never going to be a Back to the Future IV; but if there were, this would be the closest thing to it.
