Telltale’s Batman series is giving some PC players problems

Telltale's Batman series is not off to the best start, at least for PC players. Early Steam reviews for the game were largely negative, though they didn't have much to do with the game's content. It was more due to the fact that players had a hard time even accessing its content in the first place. Players have reported game crashes, dialogue sync, resolution, and framerate issues. In short, the game's launch was a minor mess.

Steam reviews have since evened out to a 71% positive rating, and that might have something to do with the fact that Telltale has released a patch that supposedly addresses performance issues. Here is what the patch addresses per an official post in the game's Steam forum.

  • Automatically defaults the game to run on dedicated graphics card
  • Adds graphics settings to enable selection of Higher Performance Textures or Higher Quality Textures (please select Higher Performance if performance is an issue)

Telltale also encourages players to update their graphics card drivers before attempting to run the game. Rest assured, this launch is nowhere near as bad as the Arkham Knight PC debacle, it's more of a slight bump in the road that will get fixed, and isn't necessarily an issue with every single PC player.
