Coming off a year in which the studio won multiple awards for its first season of The Walking Dead, Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors revealed company hopes to release season two of its award-winning title in 2014.
"We're aiming for fall next year," Dan told Eurogamer. Speaking to the site, Dan also reconfirmed news that Telltale has plans to release additional content to hold us over until the arrival of season two.
"We'll probably have something to announce fairly soon about what we're going to do," he teased. "It'll be different."
With a 2014 release, it's likely The Walking Dead season two will also arrive on next-gen consoles, like the recently announced PS4; although, Dan said it all depends on timing. If it does release on PS4, there are plans to have your PS3 saves carry over to Sony's new console. Telltale executive producer Kevin Boyle told IGN at the same event that this is something the studio was working with Sony to address.
Last month it was confirmed that your saves and digital downloads from your PS3 would not carry over to the PS4. Obviously, this presents quite a challenge for what Telltale is hoping to achieve.
"Season two will read what you did in Season one and that will tailor some of the things that happened in Season two," he said. "They'll be a lot more social and in-between episode features for Season 2 that definitely exploit what the new platforms have to offer. We're super-excited about PlayStation 4 and what all the other big console manufacturers have in store."
Unfortunately, he couldn't go into much more detail out of fear of revealing the "secret recipe of The Walking Dead."
