Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Game shuffles onto iOS devices on Thursday

The first episode of Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Game will be released for iOS devices on Thursday, July 26, the company announced on its blog.

"A New Day" is the first of five episodic adventures that will comprise The Walking Dead: The Game. Already available on PC and consoles, the first episode introduces you to new character, Lee Everett, a man convicted of a crime of passion. Given a chance for redemption in a world devastated by the undead, you will experience life changing events, meet new and familiar characters from the original comic, and also visit recognizable locations from The Walking Dead comic. In the game, player actions, choices, and decisions will affect how the story plays out across the entire series.

"We’ve spent a great deal of time carefully integrating our new interface design to create an even more intuitive experience with the touch screen as you explore a world ravaged by the undead based on the Eisner Award-winning comics from Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment," Telltale wrote on their blog. "You’ll have full character control of Lee Everett as investigation points, actions, dialogue and decision making flows onscreen and is seamlessly integrated with the environments."

You can purchase The Walking Dead's first episode for $4.99 and each additional episode separately for $4.99 each, or you can pre-purcahse the rest of the series as a Multi-Pack [Episode 2-5 Bundle] for a one-time payment of $14.99, saving you 25% of the cost if you were to buy each episode individually.

Walking Dead: The Game will run on the iPad 2, the new iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and 4th Generation iPods and above. Telltale has confirmed that it is a universal app, meaning one purchase will allow you to play on any compatible iOS device.

Telltale is already gearing up for the release of the game's second episode, "Starved for Help".

It is "is still receiving some special development touches, and is rapidly approaching release as well," they said. "We’ll be updating you right here on our site as soon as we have a firm date for its release on iOS."
