Remember Rime? It is a (possibly former) PS4 exclusive open world adventure that that was originally revealed back at Gamescom 2013 featuring a boy trying to escape a beautiful and expansive island. The game eminated shades of Journey, being hailed as an "experience" rather than a true game. The game has gone dark for some time, and after its absence from E3 2016, those who hadn't forgotten about it, have been wondering what is going on.
In speaking with Gamespot, developer Tequila Works' PR Manager, Jose Herraez confirmed that the game is very much alive and that development is on going. They also mentioned that we can expect to hear more on the game very soon. Herraez said:
"I can confirm that Rime is still in development, advancing at a great pace….We know it has been a long time with no news, and we are just as eager to communicate about the game as media and fans are to receive news, but we are only a few weeks away of changing that."
Herraez also happened to mention that the company has expanded their staff by 40%, so the game is very much the studio's focal point. Suffice it to say, we are very excited to see what Tequila Works has been up to with Rime, so we will let you know when we hear more.
