Upcoming action MMO, TERA, wrapped up its closed beta after five separate tests were performed in preparation for its May 1st launch.
Taking place between February 10th and April 8th, thousands of fans were exposed to TERA's vivid world and unique real-time combat system, and posted some pretty impressive numbers.
According to En Masse Entertainment, players killed 7.8 billion monsters throughout the five weekends. Over 90,000 parties and 3,600 guilds were formed as they explored the vast in-game locations that included Bastion of Lok, Sinestral Manor, and Cutlist's Refuge. In addition, players earned 14.5 billion gold, looted 20 million items, and died almost 2 million times.
Throughout beta, En Masse received a large amount of feedback and used it to implement a number of changes based on the Closed Beta Testing including more boss spawns, additional controller support, added chat capabilities, and changes to the PvP rules.
As for player behavior, Castanics were the most popular race, followed by humans and high elves. Warriors, sorcerers, and slayers were the most played classes.
The next stop for En Masse and TERA will be an open beta test, beginning April 19th. A head start weekend will soon follow, opening up TERA to those who pre-order on April 28th. The game officially launches on May 1st.
