Terminally ill Star Wars fan that saw The Force Awakens has passed away

Last week, 32-year old Daniel Fleetwood had his dream come true – he got to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens before it releases. Unfortunately, the circumstances around his dream coming true were very, very unfortunate. In July, Daniel had been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma, a connective tissue cancer, and was given the news that he would only have two months to live.

After seeing the film, Daniel passed away. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

Prior to his passing, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and Peter Mayhew, actors from the upcoming The Force Awakens film, supported Daniel's online campaign, #ForceforDaniel, to see the film. Disney has been known for making dreams come true and it's great that Disney took the chance to let Daniel see the film.
