‘Terminator 2’ officially taken off release schedule, Baywatch takes its place

If you were one of the people to walk out of Terminator: Genisys with a smile on your face, this might hard to break to you, but the sequel to Genisys has officially been taken off its release schedule.
Reports coming from The Hollywood Reporter state that Paramount and Skydance Entertainment's Terminator 2, which was supposed to hit theaters on May 19, 2017, has been replaced with the upcoming movie, Baywatch.
Baywatch, the big-screen take on the 1990s original TV show, which follows the adventures of a team of lifeguards on a crowded resort beach. Veteran lifeguard Mitch Buchannon watches over the younger lifeguards that come and go with each passing season as they keep the beaches safe for vacationers.
The movie will star Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Ilfenesh Hadera, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach, while Seth Gordon directs the film.
The companies must've stopped production on Terminator 2 due to the lack of sales from Genisys; back in summer 2015, it was reported that all Terminator projects were on hold indefinitely and since the film earned roughly $440 million worldwide, including only $89 million in North America, it might be time for directors and producers to take a step back a see what they want to do with the Terminator franchise.
How did you guys feel about Terminator: Genisys? Did you enjoy it? Or do you think it's finally time to put the Terminator franchise to sleep? Let us know in the comment section below!
