Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, "I'll be back." Now, thanks to UK publisher Reef Entertainment, the iconic Terminator franchise will return to consoles and PC.
In an unexpected announcement today, UK publisher Reef Entertainment announced that it has acquired exclusive console rights to 1984's The Terminator, as well as exclusive console and PC rights for 1991's sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day. They'll be creating several games based on the licenses, the first of which will be Terminators: The Video Game.
“Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces” a Reef spokeperson said. “It’s an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator video game.”
The publisher released the attached logo to go alongside with today's announcement. It doesn't reveal too much, but I'm liking those creepy red robotic eyes.
