Tetris Effect coming to PC as Epic Games Store exclusive on July 23rd

The excellent PlayStation 4 puzzler Tetris Effect is making its way to the PC. Publisher Enhance has announced that their game will launch next Tuesday, July 23rd, for the PC. The game will be exclusively available through the Epic Games Store. Check out the new PC announcement trailer here!

Users on the PlayStation 4 have long been able to enjoy the timeless classic that is Tetris in a brand-new, psychedelic way with Tetris Effect. The game originally launched last year in November on Sony’s home console and while Tetris has been ported to pretty much every device by this point, this newest entry is the first time players can experience the addictive block-puzzler in Virtual Reality.

As the ultimate version of Tetris Effect, the PC version is capable of running at resolutions of 4K or more, with an uncapped framerate (if Vsync is disabled), and includes ultra-wide monitor support as well as other expanded game and graphical options for both 2D and VR play (including adjustable particle volume and size, texture filtering, and more) not found in the PlayStation 4 console release.

The upgrades which come with the jump to the PC are definitely going to enhance the experience well beyond what the PS4 and PSVR are able to deliver. Uncapped framerates, higher resolutions and more advanced VR headsets are going to make this version the definitive way to experience the psychedelic puzzler.

Tetris Effect takes its name after the real-world phenomenon which describes the effects of devoting too much time to a particular activity which manifests itself in form of mental images or dreams, even after the activity has stopped. You likely know what we’re talking about here if you ever lost yourself in an addictive game, spending countless hours playing it in short periods of time and later dreaming about it.

You can already pre-purchase Tetris Effect on the Epic Games Store for $31.99. $8 less than the game’s regular price which will likely go into effect upon launch.
