TGAs 2019: Gearbox reveals first official PS5 game Godfall

Coming to PC as well

We finally have the first-ever official PlayStation 5 game with Godfall. Created by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox, the third-person action-adventure game is confirmed to release for PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. Watch the reveal trailer here!

To the surprise of many viewers, The Game Awards 2019 has ended up a great venue to catch a glimpse of the next generation of gaming. Both Sony and Microsoft had interesting details to share, with later actually doing the unimaginable and unveiling the next Xbox system, the Xbox Series X. Microsoft’s next-gen solution is by far the most interesting-looking console in years and reminds us more of a mini PC case than a game system. But if the rumored hardware specs are correct, the looks shouldn’t matter at all.

Godfall is a brand new, next-gen looter-slasher, set in a bright fantasy universe filled with heroic knights and arcane magic. Godfall is a fantasy action RPG that utilizes high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armor sets, and defeat vicious enemies. As players face challenging missions in the world of Godfall, enemies and bosses will reward fans with head-turning loot as they are vanquished. Godfall can be played entirely in solo, duo or three-player coop, providing fun for all.

Sony didn’t go as far as revealing the PlayStation 5 on stage, but we got to see the first official PS5 game with Godfall. And it’s not even a first-party title nor an exclusive. The third-person action-adventure game is confirmed to come out on both the PS5 and PC. Later will be done through the Epic Games Store. That makes sense since Godfall is published by Gearbox who recently released their own game Borderlands 3 exclusively on the Epic Games Store on PC.

Godfall will come out Holiday 2020 together with the launch of the PlayStation 5.
