TGS 2016: Check out 18 minutes of The Last Guardian gameplay

Will the delay do the game good?

Despite some initial fears, The Last Guardian has indeed made an appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2016. In fact, it has quite the presence in the form of both a trailer and a playable game demo (seen above). Courtesy of the Japanese Game Media outlet, Famitsu, we get our best look at what the moment-moment gameplay has to offer.

Unsurprisingly, the back and forth navigation between the beast Trico and the boy is the central part of The Last Guardian's experience. The beast allows the boy to travel to vantage points he can't reach, while the boy squeezes through small spaces to solve puzzles, opening larger thresholds to let the beast pass.

The Last Guardian was recently delayed (again), and will miss its initial October release date, and will instead hit store shelves on December 6th, 2016. This is about the last possible release week that The Last Guardian has this year, so if it gets delayed again, we likely won't see it until 2017.
