Capcom released a new trailer for Devil May Cry 5, the latest in the legendary demon-ass-kicking hack-and-slash game coming next year. We finally get to see series legend Dante in gameplay but also a surprise reveal with the third playable protagonist of DMC5. Simply V. Check out the trailer here!
Fans couldn’t help themselves but to cheer in joy when Capcom gave them a short glimpse of the DMC series face Dante, at the end of the announcement trailer this E3. With the new TGS trailer, Dante is taking the limelight, showing the aged demon hunter in gratuitous and fast-paced action combat.
Dante is giving us here the whole tour across his special abilities. Starting from his iconic dual weapons Ebony & Ivory to the Devil Sword Sparda. We also see Dante’s half-demon heritage shining through in his more unique demonic abilities. From Demon Arms and Legs to the full Devil Trigger, where Dante morphs into his demonic form, creating tons of carnage. If that’s too serious, rest eased since Dante can also attack using Cavaliere, his motorbike, either by driving or by splitting his ride in two and using them as giant swords.
We don’t know how much focus Dante will get in the story but it seems like Nero, the other returning protagonist of the previous DMC4, is set to become the primary narrative character. His badass robotic arm makes me want to believe it at least.
Besides Dante, two femme fatales from the DMC franchise also made their debut appearances. Trish, a demon-turned-ally, will once again return, alongside Lady who is back as well.
As if two playable heroes wasn’t enough, similar to how Dante was teased at the announcement, a third protagonist is shown at the end of this new trailer with V. We know very little about V at this point, but he looks decidedly calmer and more stoic than either Nero or Dante.
Capcom is also leveraging the breadth of their games catalog to get players to buy the Deluxe Edition of Devil May Cry 5. Exclusively for buyers of the DE, 4 Devil Breaker weapons will be available. One of which is the Mega Buster. The iconic hand cannon of Mega Man. Watch Nero in action using the Mega Buster in the trailer above.
