That Chewbacca Star Wars mask is worth up to $499 thanks to eBay scammers

Last week a woman named Candace Payne shared a video on Facebook that showed her latest Kohl's purchase: an electronic Chewbacca mask. The video has gone viral with over 141 million views, granting her the name 'Chewbacca Mask Lady.'

Scammers have taken the Chewbacca mask's sudden fame and are using it to their advantage — regardless of the fact that the mask is typically $31.99. Prices for the mask on Amazon have skyrocketed up to starting at $150.

On eBay, the mask started at around $50 bids and goes up to $499. Yep, it only took one video and this mask is worth up to $499, thanks to eBay scammers.

This isn't the first time eBay scammers have struck, they did the same with PlayStation 4 consoles that had the P.T. demo on them.
