When it comes to almost any game if there's an exploitation, someone will find it and someone will make use of it.
Not everyone exploits, but there definitely are people who exploit features in games to collect items or money faster. In fact, it's come down to a science — enough so that they can automate gameplay with third-party programs.
Typically, this is known as "botting" or using "bots." Blizzard has suffered their share of people botting, most recently with in Hearthstone. Blizzard issued a statement in August saying that Hearthstone followed 'fair play' at the core of its gameplay and that both botting and cheating won't be tolerated.
So what's happening to botters in Hearthstone? They're getting banned until 2015, with any activities that follow their un-banning being monitored. People may be calling for a heavier reprimand to the botters; permabans. It's unclear as to why Blizzard chose a two month ban, but it may just be to allow players to come back and play fairly – a second chance for botters.
